Ben Lee-Delisle

Music for Cartoons and Children’s TV

About me

In a long and varied career as a composer and song writer, I have worked with Jennifer Saunders on Absolutely Fabulous, scored Gerard Butler's first feature film, written a theme song for Reece Shearsmith, and - perhaps my crowning achievement - recorded a Christmas song with Mr Tumble.

My song 'Goodbye Sun, Hello Moon' has played every day on Cbeebies since 2006.

Most recently, I have been working on songs for BAFTA- and EMMY-winning Cartoon Network series The Amazing World of Gumball, as well as a new series of Numberblocks on Cbeebies.

I also write and perform comedy songs under the name Ben Champion.

Press for Ben Champion:
‘Smart, funny and awesome in equal measure’ **** Fringe Guru
‘He may well end up rivalling the musical comedy heavyweights’ Chortle

Praise for Ad Libido (songs co-written with Fran Bushe):
‘...makes serious points using silly means. This is perhaps clearest in the songs, which combine knowing absurdity with smart and audacious rhymes.’ **** The Guardian
‘[the writers’] real skill, though, is as a lyricist… just sublime.’ **** The Stage

Praise for ‘An Audience with Yasmine Day’ (songs co-written with Jay Bennet):
‘…it's Day’s own original tracks that made me laugh the hardest however… and she ends the show with a selection of tracks from a forthcoming musical that I truly hope she does one day perform in full’ **** Comedy To Watch
